Cultural Programme

Get ready for a year of specially curated Salford-themed cultural experiences.

Walk the Plank and From the Other have been appointed by Salford City Council as co-creative producers for Salford 100’s cultural programme.

Together with Salford’s communities, they’re creating an exciting programme that reflects Salford’s history, celebrates its diversity, and looks to the future, and is built around three creative strands set out below.

The Wagon Train

Walk the Plank’s pop-up festival in your neighbourhood, celebrating the heart and soul of Salford.

Salford Everywhere

A video portrait of Salfordians from across the city, projected as giants moving across its buildings, weaving together people and place.

Songs of Salford

‘Dirty Old Town’ has had its time as Salford’s song; it’s time to find the city’s new anthem...

This programme will unfold across all eight neighbourhoods – and a ninth, the ‘Neighbourhood of Other,’ where community is defined by connection, not just geography.

Your City, Your Collection, Your Salford 100 Project comes to Salford Museum & Art Gallery.
