UK Chinese Dragon Boat Festival
The UK Chinese Dragon Boat Festival will return to Salford Quays on Saturday 13 and Sunday 14 June 2026, promising two days of vibrant Chinese food, dance, music, and culture, alongside thrilling dragon boat racing on the water. Races will feature youth teams, amateur crews, and professional competitors from across the UK, coordinated by the British Dragon Boat Racing Association (BDA).
This year’s festival holds special significance as it aligns with the Salford 100 centenary, further cementing its role as a highlight of Salford’s annual programme of events. On the same weekend, the City of Salford Royal Naval Association will host the prestigious Royal Naval Association National Conference, welcoming veterans, serving personnel, and supporters from across the country.
The UCDBF aims to achieve the following:
Attract more British people and institutions to participate in order to make the event a landmark cultural and sports activities for the communities of the British society
Contribute actively to the multiculturalism inclusive society, for more peaceful and harmonious communities
Promote the Anglo-China people’s understanding, exchange and friendship, as well as the economic and trade cooperation
Promote the legacies of Salford and Greater Manchester, for cultural and tourism development
Provide platforms for institutions and enterprises to share their business information and products with the public and potential customers.
