General Strike 100

The Working Class Movement Libary (WCML) is part of the General Strike 100 national partnership of museums libraries, archives and history groups, coordinated by the General Federation of Trade Unions.

WCML will be opening a new exhibition to mark the anniversary of the General Strike in May.

The exhibition, A Great Betrayal: One Hundred Years On: the lessons of the 1926 General Strike re-visited, will display some of WCML's extensive collection of materials related to the strike, from first hand sources from the strikers and pamphlets, to BBC news transcripts and photographs. We hope this exhibition continues to provide open access to our materials, a source of free education for all.
